The following specialties are areas of particular interest and expertise. However, I encourage you to reach out to see if we are a good fit, regardless of your specific need or concern. The therapeutic relationship is key to meaningful change and it's important to find a therapist that is right for you.
DEPRESSION

GRIEF and LOSS
Everyone's grief journey is different. Contrary to what you may have heard, there is no linear path nor are there stages that one follows in the grief process. You could be grieving a loss due to death, divorce, or other life events. Your loss may have been through traumatic circumstances or you could be experiencing concurrent life stress that complicates your grief. The focus is on providing a safe space for you to reconcile your grief, heal from traumatic experiences, and cultivate resilience for a more balanced and fulfilling life.
ANXIETY DISORDERS and DEPRESSION
It is very common for individuals with an anxiety disorder to also experience depression. Managing these disorders involves a holistic and empathetic approach while relying on evidence-based therapeutic modalities to build skills and insight. Through counseling, individuals are empowered to understand and address their anxiety and depression, develop coping mechanisms, and work towards a more peaceful and confident state of being.
COMPASSION FATIGUE
Compassion fatigue results from the stress of caring for others and can affect anyone in a caregiving role. My counseling service specializes in helping caregivers, healthcare workers, and emergency services workers to manage this stress and develop resilience and coping mechanisms. My approach is customized to your unique needs and tailored to help you build a healthier, more balanced life. Some common interventions revolve around relaxation techniques, values discovery and affirmation, and cognitive reframing.
DEMENTIA/AGING RELATED ILLNESSES
Dementia and other aging-related illnesses are challenging and heartbreaking for both the person experiencing it and their loved ones. Counseling for the diagnosed individual in the early stages provides an opportunity to process and grieve the diagnosis and the long-term implications. Dementia and other aging-related illnesses can also impact family members. You might be struggling with facing a new role in the family or with past family conflict. We will focus on your goals to help you cope and find peace.
